Any one who visits New Delhi will surely visit India Gate. This is one of the war memorials in India and it is located at the eastern end of Rajpath. It is 42 meter high, freestanding arch and it was designed by 'Edwin Lutyens', an English architect and built in 1931.
It was originally called as 'All India War Memorial', in memory of the eighty fine thousand Indian soldiers who died in first World War. There is Under 'Amar Jawan Jyoti' under that arch, commemorating Indian armed forces in the India-Pakistan war in 1971.
Hyderabad House and Baroda House are the two impressive buildings located just to the northwest of India Gate. These were built for residences of the Nizam of Hyderabad and the Gaikwad of Baroda, now days are used for official work.
